This Privacy Policy explains how Outy ("Outy," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use outy.io and any related websites, mobile applications, and services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

    1. Information we collect

We collect information in three main ways: information you provide, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.

    1.1 Information you provide

    Account and profile information:
Name, email address, password, job title, company, company size, LinkedIn URL, and other profile fields you choose to provide.

    Contact and notification preferences:
Mobile phone number, notification email address, and your preferences for event alerts, reminders, and marketing communications.

    Event information:
Events you host or submit (event details, venue, dates, descriptions) and events you add to your lineup or follow.

    Communications:
Messages you send us (e.g., support requests, feedback) and content you submit through forms.

    1.2 Information we collect automatically

When you use the Service, we may automatically collect:

    • Log data (IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, date/time stamps)
    • Usage data (features used, events viewed or saved, clicks on links)
    • Cookie and similar technology data (cookies, local storage, pixels) to enable core functionality, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used

    1.3 Information from third parties

We may receive information about you from:

    • Event platforms and registration tools when you follow links to them and they send data back to us (where permitted)
    • Analytics and advertising providers that help us understand how people discover and use Outy
    • Business partners or sponsors involved in specific Events, but only where allowed by law and by our agreements

    2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

    • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
    • Help you discover Events, manage your lineup, and connect with hosts

If you provide your mobile number and expressly opt in to SMS notifications, we will send you SMS messages related to Events you follow, including:

    • Event alerts when a new Event matches your filters
    • Reminders for Events in your lineup
    • Updates if an Event's date, time, or venue changes

    • You can reply HELP for help or contact us at support@outy.io

We use third-party providers (such as SMS gateway providers) to deliver SMS messages. These providers act as processors on our behalf and are not permitted to use your phone number for their own marketing purposes.

We do not sell or rent your phone number to third parties for their own marketing.

We use your email address to send:

    • Transactional emails (event notifications, updates, reminders, account messages)
    • Optional marketing emails (product updates, announcements, curated event content), if you opt in

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email or adjusting your preferences in your profile. We may still send essential transactional emails even if you opt out of marketing emails.

    4. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

    • We must comply with a legal obligation

You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
